Dance Classes


Flamenco dance classes at Casa de Flamenco are currently suited to teenagers over the age of 12 years and adults. We offer classes for complete beginners to professional level. Each class includes a warm up, various technique exercises and choreography.

At Casa de Flamenco we offer students performance opportunities as they feel ready in a supportive and encouraging environment to assist in the development of confidence and performance skills.

Please note: The years of experience recommended for each level is a guide only and individual guidance can be provided by the teacher to ensure a fulfilling learning experience for all.

Term Dates 2026


Term 1 (10 weeks): Saturday 31 January – Saturday 11th April

Please note: No classes Saturday 21 March due to the hall being used for the election which is why we are starting the term early.

No class Thursday 2 April this class will be made up Thursday 16 April.

Term 2 (10 weeks): Saturday 25th April – Saturday 4th July

Please note: No classes Saturday 6th of June due to Church event in hall which is why we are starting the term early.

Term 3 (10 weeks): Monday 20th July –  26th September
Term 4 (9 weeks): Saturday 12th October – Thursday 10th December

Please note: End of year performance will be held on Saturday 12th December which is why we are starting the term early.

8:00-8:30pm: Intro to Castanets
Thursday: 6 – 7pm: Level 4 Advanced Flamenco
Saturday: 10 – 11am: Level 2 Elementary Flamenco
11:00am – 11:30am: Open level Castanets
11:30am – 12:00pm: Bata de Cola
12pm – 1pm: Level 3 Intermediate

Class Descriptions


Absolute Beginners
(Level 1)


If you are new to flamenco or dance, this is the class for you! No prior dance training is required. Focused on students in their first year, this class will develop flamenco and dance skills at a measured pace.

You will build a strong foundation in all flamenco techniques of footwork, arms, turns, rhythm and terminology. 

Also you will learn a simple fun dance to put it all into practice!

Continuing Beginners
(Level 1.5)


This level is to help extend those that have completed the equivalent of 1 year of beginners flamenco classes. You will continue to build a strong foundation and progressively and methodically begin to add more speed, style, nuance and complexity.  You will learn slightly more complex rhythms, techniques and the steps of our choreography will help extend you to help you progress on your flamenco journey.

Elementary
(Level 2)


If you have a least one year of flamenco dance experience our Elementary class is for you. We will build on basic techniques and introduce some more complex rhythms and steps. We will learn a learn a choreography suitable for those with some flamenco dance experience.

Intermediate
(Level 3)


This level is for those with a strong base in flamenco. The class starts with upper body, footwork and turning techniques followed by learning a dance that will be built upon and perfected each week that will expand your flamenco knowledge and technique on all levels. Students in this level are recommended to attend consistently and practice regularly at home to be able progress with the group and be ready for the end of year performance.

Intro to Castanets


A 30 minute class to introduce the techniques of castanets for those with no or little experience with castanets. We will learn a short piece as well as fundamental techniques of castanets.

Castanets
(Open level)


Enjoy various castanet techniques to improve clarity, dynamics and speed and a stunning choreography with castanets. For those with some experience with castanets and flamenco dance.

Advanced
(Level 4)


This is our highest level class at Casa de Flamenco. In this class the pace will be faster in both the technique sections of the class as well as building of choreography. Students in this class are recommended to attend consistently and do regular home practice to be able to enjoy the challenge of this level and be performance ready for the end of year performance.

Bata de Cola


We will start the class with progressive techniques (with or without a bata de cola) essential for excellent placement with this gorgeous train skirt to avoid injury.

In the second part of the class we will learn a beautiful dance with the bata to put all the techniques into practice to perform at the end of year performance.

Kids Class


A wonderful class which nurtures the creativity and confidence of kids aged approximately 7-12 years (flexible dependant on individual child). They will learn the rhythms and movements of flamenco to fun and inspiring music.


Fees and Conditions

2026 Term Fees


Please note these prices are for an 10 week term

30 mins per week: $123/$110 conc.
1 hour per week: $189/$171 conc.
1 hour 30 mins per week: $273/$246 conc.
2 hours per week: $358/$322 conc.
2 hours 30 mins per week: $415/$373 conc.
3 hours per week: $474/$427 conc.
3 hours 30 mins per week: $495/$455 conc.
4 or more hours per week: $517/$465 conc.
Casual Fee: $29 per hour (payable on the day)
Private classes: $43 per half hour and $75 per hour
(payable on the day)

Terms & Conditions


  • Full term fees are payable upfront before the start of term. After the due date a 10% fee will apply for every week late.
  • Term fees can be paid in 2 installments upon arrangement via email before the term fee due date. Email: contact@casadeflamenco.com.au
  • No credit or refund for missed classes, unless classes are cancelled.
  • No make ups available for missed classes as term fee includes access to video material and much more value than just class time.
